Paul Diamond has been instructed in a high-level political case involving the former British Ambassador to Washington, Lord Darroch

Lord Darroch was recalled as Ambassador to the United States in 2019 for making allegedly derogatory remarks about President Trump. The Claimant claims that he was, in reality, recalled for allegedly, selling state secrets for sex.  An individual civil servant was made the fall guy and is seeking compensation for his brutal treatment.

The Government is seeking to move this case to a Closed (secret) hearing under the Justice and Security Act 2013 as it is alleged that the case involves matters of national security: the Claimant believes this is an attempt to remove the case from public view to avoid diplomatic embarrassment.
